Really enjoyed this ascerbically witty story about the publishing industry. It feels like a vicious attack and is hung on an improbable plot - or is it? Does this kind of thing happen? At times it sounds totally plausible. A light is shone on how the next best sellers are picked and promoted (not necessarily anything to do with the quality of writing), on racism and diversity and on the use and misuse of social media. It would be a great one for a reading group and if the author is ever doing an event near me I'll be there. I'd love to ask her if she exaggerated at all or if it's all true. It's great!
