Open Wide! The Truth about Teeth Interactive Talk or Workshop for Libraries
Join science writer Dr Letizia Diamante to discover more about your mouth, the mouth of your favourite animals – and some super weird ones, too!
We lose our milk teeth to make space for adult teeth, but what happens in the animal kingdom? And how come that we have teeth in the first place? Couldn’t we just shallow worms like chickens do? Get ready for a wild adventure inside the mouth! You’ll find the sharpest teeth, stickiest spit and longest tongues! Discover the jaw-dropping jaws of a myriad of animals, from the elephant to the whales, from the T-rex to the cat, from the great white shark to the garden snail.
But mouths aren’t just for munching! Learn how animals use their mouths to carry food, build homes, and even climb waterfalls.
The event can either be:
– An interactive talk for all those children who can’t get enough of animal fun facts, inspired by the book Open Wide! published by What on Earth.
– A workshop will be more hands-on with plenty of games, quizzes and fun activities such as a make a scary tiger mask!
Don’t miss out on this interesting and interactive event, perfect for ages 7+.
Please note, location must be within 1 hour of travel from Cambridge.
