We have launched an exciting competition for young people. All they have to do is write a story using the popular communication tool - Twitter.
Communication is one of four skills we are focussing on this summer, along with Teamwork, Organisation and Workplace and Social Reporting. We're encouraging Summer Reading Challenge volunteers to write about using and improving these skills on our website in order to receive online badges as well as a letter describing the skills they have acheived that will be useful for future employment and/or further education.
And there are prizes too. When volunteers get their online communication badge they are entered into a prize draw to win a £50 shopping voucher.
How the competition works
The twitter competition is running from 16 July to 14 August. It was launched by author Teri Terry who wrote her own twitter story. Terry will also be judging the competition and picking a winner.
To enter, all young people have to do is write a story in 140 characters or less and use the hashtag #MythFic. They can submit as many times as possible, but, one entry is one tweet.
The winning story will be showcased on our website and newsletter, and the winner will receive a fantastic signed copy the full Slated trilogy by Terri Terry and a lucky dip of books!
