To celebrate the stunning debut by author Robin Talley, Lies We Tell Ourselves, we held a competition to find out the lies Reading Activists tell themselves in daily life.
We had a fantastic response with entries coming in many forms; there were Twitter posts, photos and even a video. We are very excited to announce that the winning entry came from the Libronauts, the Reading Activist group in Warrington.
We loved this hilarious entry which features so many of the group revealing the lies they tell themselves. Congratulations Libronauts. You are the lucky winners of a reading group set of Lies We Tell Ourselves. The group will also get the chance to interview the author over Skype and throw a 1950s-style party!
Our runners up are Andrea from Gatehead Reading Activists for his funny Harry Potter themed lie (pictured), and Lucas Smythe from Hipperholme and Lightcliffe High School for his lie about his exam result: "That 'U' I got in that test meant: 'I Understand how good you are at this subject so A* isn't good enough for you."
Andrea and Lucas will receive a reading group set of the book.
