On 2 August we ran a workshop with digital media agency Bold Creative, where young people aged 16 to 24 could share their ideas on the future of the Reading Activists programme.
We wanted to put young people at the heart of the process, and set up a consultation group where young people could openly express their opinions and ideas.
We kicked things off with an update on where the project has got up to so far. Then it was time to ask what the young people thought of a new and exciting concept to get young people reading and doing things in their communities.
After a pizza break, we split the young people into smaller groups to discuss the project in more detail. The groups talked about marketing, branding, challenge ideas and rewards and incentives.
"It was so encouraging to see so many young people sharing their so many creative and intelligent ideas... I'm grateful to have been a part of this programme." - Chima, 17.
