What's next for Reading Hack?

The Paul Hamlyn Foundation has generously funded Reading Hack since 2013. This funding enabled us to develop Reading Hack in partnership with libraries and young people, design a youth-focused brand and work with libraries to embed Reading Hack volunteering and groups across the UK. We are proud to see how you have taken Reading Hack and made it your own, using it to develop a young people's offer that supports reading, volunteering, skills development, wellbeing and lots more. An incredible 27,000 young people across 170 authorities have taken part in the past 3 years of delivery.
Reading Hack's five-year funding gift from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation is ending, which means that there will no longer be a dedicated Reading Hack team in the office from the end of June. Although The Reading Agency will no longer be able to offer the same level of training, funding and one-to-one support as before, we will continue to support libraries' work with young people and champion the Reading Hack brand in the following ways:
- Downloadable resources and materials to support young people's volunteering
- Books, materials and reading group guides from publishers
- Activity ideas for young people, from young people on www.readinghack.org.uk
- Duke of Edinburgh's Award volunteer roles and guidance
