Erin Kelly is the author of The Poison Tree, The Sick Rose, The Burning Air, The Ties That Bind and Broadchurch: The Novel, inspired by the mega-hit TV series. The Poison Tree was a Richard & Judy summer read in 2011 and became a major ITV drama in 2013.

“I enjoyed the fact that the story is told from the differing viewpoints of a husband and wife and that it also moves between the present and the time of the crucial event. These aspects work well in creating a momentum to the story and there is an element of suspense as the truth of the situation becomes only gradually apparent, giving the reader the opportunity to form their own theories and draw their own conclusions. The relentless pace of the story kept me engaged and I did not foresee the conclusion. This is a well-written, enjoyable read.”

“This is a real gut wrenching tale of an accusation of rape and the subsequent trial and affect this has on other people’s lives. The fall out is immense and the plot is gripping and engaging.”
