Every year, The Reading Partners team at national charity, The Reading Agency organises Roadshows and this year, we went virtual! We were thrilled to have nearly 1000 attendees, including librarians and teachers, join us across the two days.
The Roadshows provide an opportunity for librarians and teachers to hear from thirty publishing partners and seven authors about their latest titles and ask questions about promotional opportunities. We see events such as this and our partnership with publishers and public and school libraries as key to delivering our mission to tackle life's big challenges through the proven power of reading. They also support our three key goals: connecting individuals and communities, supporting life skills and learning and promoting health and well-being.
One librarian who attended said, "[I] was really inspired by all the exciting new titles due to be published in the next few months," whilst another added, "[the sessions] were really informative and the time just flew by! It's often the librarians doing the enthusing with readers so it is really good for us to be enthused ourselves from time to time."
Meanwhile, author Janet Skeslien Charles, who presented at the Adult Reading Partner's event, said "thank-you for a wonderful event. I was so glad to be able to talk to the librarians and to read their comments. I can't wait to read all the forthcoming books and was glad to get a sneak peek!"
The Children's Reading Partners Roadshow took place on Monday 23 November and had three engaging sessions with seventeen children's publishers. You can find recordings of the sessions, the delegate pack, the individual publisher PowerPoint slides and other resources from the publishers in our Dropbox and Google Drive folders.
The Adult Reading Partners Roadshow took place on Tuesday 24 November and had two informative sessions with thirteen publishers of adult fiction and non-fiction titles. You can find recordings of the sessions, the delegate pack, the individual publisher PowerPoint slides and other resources from the publishers in our Dropbox and Google Drive folders.
