Digital Skills Sharing Showcase: Leeds & Wakefield
The Digital Skill Sharing programme paired Leeds and Wakefield Libraries with Random House. Here, Random House's Luke Jeycock, Wakefield's Alison Cassels and Leeds' Alison Millar showcase the team's projects.
At the start of the project Wakefield had no social media presence. Working with Random House they developed a carefully targeted social strategy, selecting platforms and activity that would appeal to their audience. These included launching a blog and Facebook presence.
By contrast Leeds had an established Facebook and Twitter community as well as pre-existing blogs. Their project focused on maximising their effectiveness on social media through campaign planning and partnership development using the Hearty Words promotion and NHS partnership as a starting point.
