We are delighted that we will be working with Tesco Bank again in 2016 to increase the reach of the Summer Reading Challenge north of the border.
The Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland aims to raise awareness of the Challenge and increase participation figures.
- Last year over 41,000 children took part in the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland
- 22,065 children (54%) completed the Challenge by reading six books and a further 1,287 under 4's took part in the Challenge, using specially produced Early Years material
- Over 2,800 children joined the library as new members during the Challenge this summer
Tesco Bank's sponsorship will give each Scottish authority access to free materials for The Big Friendly Read for up to 300 children, along with funding for a promotional event - this could be a launch party, medal ceremony or other reader related activity.
Visit your local library this summer to sign up for the Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland.
