We're delighted to announce that we will be working with Guinness World Records ™ (GWR) on the 2015 Summer Reading Challenge. The theme will be Record Breakers!
About Record Breakers
Record Breakers will bring together the worlds of fact and fiction, challenging young readers to explore some of the astonishing real-life achievements and world records featured in the Guinness World Records Books as part of their Summer Reading Challenge 2015.
Collecting stickers as they go, young readers will discover weird, wonderful and wacky records from around the world in six different categories: Cool Tech, Way to Go!, The Big Stuff, Animal Magic, People Power and Action! Adventure!
About Guinness World Records
GWR's mission is around inspiring, celebrating achievement and personal best, which reflects the ethos of The Reading Agency and of the Summer Reading Challenge. GWR has a wealth of material and content, which will translate perfectly to the core Summer Reading Challenge and display materials. With a strong appeal to boys, the theme will also help encourage information skills, engage reluctant readers, inspire wider reading and provide a platform for community engagement with both local and national PR opportunities.
Jenny Heller, VP, Publishing, for Guinness World Records commented:
We are absolutely delighted that our partnership with The Reading Agency is supporting children to become confident readers by engaging with educational content that they genuinely enjoy. We know how much children look forward to discovering new Guinness World Records facts and achievements every year, so to bring a record-breaking opportunity to the heart of this reading challenge is an honour for us as we mark our 60th anniversary.
