Libraries celebrate World Book Day 2014

Other ways to celebrate
- Watch The Biggest Book Show on Earth, a film compered by CBBC stars Dick and Dom and featuring many of this year's World Book Day authors and illustrators. The film explores exactly what it takes to write and illustrate brilliant stories.
- Library joining forms have been included in schools packs and they're also available from the World Book Day website. Look out for children, young people and adults bringing these to libraries.
- Fantastic Storycraft videos - 10 videos of bestselling children's authors and illustrators sharing their tips and writing secrets.
- A World Book Day-themed Chatterpack, a PR toolkit and a Where's Wally library kit are also available, alongside many more resources on the World Book Day website.
- Free World Book Day poster packs have been sent to library authorities by library suppliers. You can also download the £1 books poster, the World Book Day fest events poster, and the £1 books for young adults poster.
- Share your ideas for promoting reading on World Book Day in World Book Day's Showcase section.
We are also delighted that World Book Day have put a library joining message in the backs of books, and have highlighted the 'first-time challenge' for working with libraries in the schools packs, which includes suggestions for ways that schools and libraries can work together.
