The Olympics and Paralympics may now be over, but not the medal ceremonies as children celebrate their success in the 2012 Summer Reading Challenge in libraries and schools across the country.
London 2012 Festival
As part of the London 2012 Festival several well known authors and celebrities visited Summer Reading Challenge events around the country. Charlie Higson (pictured above), author of the Young Bond Series, visited Kentish Town Library to help hand out medals and certificates to young readers.
Around the country, local Olympic Torch Bearers have also played an important part in the medal ceremonies.
At Braybrooke Primary School in Leicester, the children celebrated their success with Olympic Torch Bearer, Dean Barnet. Dean brought his Olympic Torch along to the ceremony at the school and also presented medals to the children. It was a fitting way to celebrate the children's success in the reading challenge.
Whilst, in Devon, the Mayor, Tom Lindus and local Olympic Torch Bearer, Richard Salter, presented the medals to children at the ceremony at Tiverton Library.

And at Valence Library, in Dagenham, the children strike a Usain Bolt pose to celebrate their success!
