The Reading Agency delivers a range of national campaigns which celebrate the proven power of reading to support personal and social development, learning and wellbeing through enjoyable reading related activities.

Mark My Words

The Reading Agency and Universal Music Group's (UMG's) UK Task Force for Meaningful Change, a team focused on the unique challenges facing the UK's Black community, delivered a campaign called 'Mark My Words', a national libraries campaign celebrating Black authors, where 5,608 books were gifted to 701 library branches across the UK.

The Big Eurovision Read

Supported by BBC Arts, The Big Eurovision Read features a booklist of 12 titles by celebrated authors including Rachel Joyce, Terry Pratchett and Stormzy; and two weeks of workshops, events and readings in a pop-up reading den outside Liverpool Central Library as part of EuroFestival Culture Liverpool's two-week cultural festival taking over the city in the lead up to the contest.

Dip Into Reading

We have teamed up with Welsh Libraries to promote the link between regular reading and improved health outcomes this winter. Supported by Welsh Government, libraries across Wales will be involved in the public information campaign 'Dip into Reading' which aims to promote small amounts of reading each week to support people's mental health and wellbeing.

The Amazing Authors competition gives children up and down the country the chance to become an amazing author, by writing their very own short story or poem, but also an amazing assortment of incredible money-can't buy prizes!

Big Give - Read On

From 29 November, for every £1 you donate a Quick Read will be gifted to someone who will benefit the most from reading this winter. We want you to help us to spread the joy and power of reading. Please help us reach our target of gifting at least 25,000 copies of our life changing Quick Reads titles to homeless communities across the UK

The Big Jubilee Read

The Big Jubilee Read is a reading for pleasure campaign from BBC Arts and The Reading Agency, celebrating great reads from celebrated authors from across the Commonwealth to coincide with Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Seventy titles were chosen in total, ten from each decade of Her Majesty's reign.

Summer of Fun

Libraries across Wales took part in exciting activity to celebrate this year's Gadgeteers themed Summer Reading Challenge. Families and children across the country have been joining in the fun with weeks of extra activities and events to unleash their imagination every day of the holidays.

BBC Radio 2 Book Club

The Radio 2 Book Club is on The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show and BBC Sounds. Each month Zoe interviews the chosen authors, as well as having brilliant guest stars and real-life listeners on the show to talk about the books. The Reading Agency, along with a team of librarians across the UK, help the BBC to choose the Book Club titles each month.

The Reading Agency is one of 6 partners working on StoryTrails, an immersive storytelling experience taking place in libraries across the UK in 2022. Untold stories from the past are brought to life through the magic of the 3D internet using augmented and virtual reality to reanimate public spaces in towns and cities across the UK.

World Book Night

World Book Night is a national celebration of reading and books which takes place on 23 April every year. Books are given out across the UK with a focus on reaching those who don't regularly read, and are gifted through organisations.
