I liked this book
My favourite character was Posy and I really enjoyed the subject of this book.
Better than the TV film!
i hated the book
I didn't really get some parts.
Although I did not find this story particularly stimulating, I do believe that the individual characters were well-drawn. This story has relevance in my life, hence I am likely to be more judgemental towards this subject matter than otherwise. Overall, however, it was fine!
My favourite book ever!
a story from the past,a true page turner
My mum read this with me and helped explain some of the story as it is quite old. I liked Pauline's character and how she became an actress.
Love this book - read it a lot. I love ballet. Recommend it.
My favourite characters is Pauline because Pauline love to dance and she gets to do lots of plays. And petrova because she likes to help Mr Simpson and their car. My favourite part is when GUM comes home. I would recommend this book to 6+ and if you like ballet.
I really liked this book because it’s about stage school and I’m interested in going to stage school and it’s set in the olden days. My favourite character was Pauline because she was the one who acted the most.
This book seemed so real and it felt like I was another sister and I loved how it made me feel like I was there with Pauline, Petrova and Posy.
I really loved the book a lot. 'If the other girls could be one of us, I wonder which one they'd be." At the end of the book, Petrova says this. It's a good question. I would want to be Pauline, Acting sounds amazingly fun!- but also Posy, I would love to be able to dance ballet. The only one I wouldn't want to be, although I love her too, is Petrova. In reality though, I think I would be her. Fascinated by cars, and a sort of tomboy. I would recommend this book to people who like a calm but entertaining book.
Love the characters
This is a really good book mainly for girls though. I would highly recommend Ballet shoes.
I really enjoy this classic. It is is a really enjoyable gentle read. I think I am most like Pauline than Petrova or Posy (not that I am a HollyWood Star!). My least favourite character was Posy because she was so full of herself and did not care of anyone else or the family's money problem. I would recommend Ballet Shoes to any lover of dancing or any body who enjoys a good classic. Overall a very good book.
I love ballet, so this book is definietly for me. The beautiful language, different characters and lovely ambitions made me feel both sad and angry, as well as excited and happy. I recommend this book to older children who like dancing, like me. And I LOVE dancing!
I really enjoyed ballet shoes because it based on 3 people's hopes and dreams. They weren't related but they were brought together and they put their heads together and that's what i really liked about it. I would recommend it to children aged 9-12
