From June 2013 a range of self-help books will be available in libraries as part of the new Reading Well Books on Prescription scheme which helps people manage their own health and well-being through recommended self-help books.
The titles on the core list of books for Reading Well Books on Prescription have been recommended by experts. They have been tried and tested and found to be useful.
Publishers Constable & Robinson and Taylor & Francis have provided extracts from some of the titles on the core booklist to help promote the scheme.

The Books Beyond Words series tell stories in pictures to help people with learning disabilities and communication difficulties to explore and understand their health experiences.
Guidelines are provided (as text at the back of each book) for carers and supporters, health and other professionals who provide support to people with learning disabilities. There is also a suggested storyline and recommended helpful organisations and further resources.
