Yodel to be World Book Night logistics partner

We're pleased to announce that parcel carrier Yodel has signed up to be logistics partner for World Book Night for a second year.
Yodel, which handles over 135 million parcels every year, will deliver over 250,000 World Book Night edition books to more than 2,000 bookshop and library collection points around the country, for volunteers to collect and distribute. The distribution will take place in April.
Joint passion for books and reading
Sue Wilkinson, our CEO, said: "World Book Night is central to our work; it's an extraordinary event designed to spread the power and love of reading by sharing and gifting books. It is delivered through a strong partnership between bookshops, libraries and communities, connecting great books and stories with the people whose lives might be changed by reading them.
"Our distribution partner, Yodel, is an essential part of this work and the programme would not be possible without the company's ongoing support. Yodel's passion for books, reading and literacy matches our own and it's a joy to work with such a like-minded and generous partner."
Spreading the word
Commenting on the sponsorship, Yodel's executive chairman, Dick Stead, said; "We are delighted to partner with World Book Night for a second year, literally helping The Reading Agency to 'spread the word'. We currently handle over 3.5 million book deliveries on behalf of publishers, retail chains and hundreds of independent booksellers each year and we're delighted to once again offer our expertise to support this fantastic cause and encourage more people to discover the simple joy that reading can bring."
Get involved
This year for the first time there's a new way to take part in World Book Night, as a Community Book Giver. This means you choose - and provide - the book you give. It can be one you already own, or one you buy specially, new or second-hand. You can also choose whoever you want to give the book to - a friend, a member of your community, a complete stranger. What we ask is that you give your book to someone who doesn't regularly read.
