Our research shows that belonging to a reading group can make you happier, widen your reading habits and help you enjoy books even more. It's a great way to make friends and connect with your community too.
National Reading Group Day (Saturday 24 June), which we run in partnership with the Booksellers Association, is a celebration of reading groups throughout the country and the positive effect these groups have on their members.
How to take part
Share what you love about your group
National Reading Group Day is an opportunity to celebrate reading groups and we'd love to hear about as many groups as possible. Share what you love about your reading group on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using #NRGD17
Join a reading group
If you're not already a member of a group, use our Reading Groups for Everyone website to find groups near you. Your local library may run reading groups so give them a call or pop in to find out if they are accepting new members. You could also try your local book shop.
If you don't find a suitable group nearby, why not set one up? Check out our quick guide to starting a reading group.
