In conjunction with Faber and Faber we've been able to arrange Poetry Clinic events in libraries across the country. At these events, which form part of his Poetry on Prescription Tour, William Sieghart will be explaining why poetry can be better than therapy. He will reading from his anthology Winning Words: Inspiring Poems for Everyday Life and then prescribing poems for any problems that are presented to him.
About William Seighart
William Sieghart is the founder of Forward Thinking, a London based NGO, working with the leadership on both sides of the divide in the Israel/Palestine conflict.
For many years he was a member of the Arts Council and Chairman of its Lottery Committee. He is currently also Chairman of the Arts Foundation and Streetsmart: Action for the Homeless. Sieghart has also founded the Forward Poetry Prizes, Britain's largest prize for poetry and National Poetry Day.
William firmly believes in poetry's ability to see people through their most difficult moments of life, everything from a blue day to a broken heart, from social anxiety to mild depression.
