Reaching Readers is a practical workshop for the public library sector on how to pitch for authors and host successful events.
Our Reading Partners scheme is a partnership consortium transforming the way publishers and libraries work together.
Over the last 7 years, Reading Partners has formed a crucial bridge between the two sectors, helping publishers to understand how much libraries can help to bring their authors and readers together in a more creative and interactive way.
In an exciting joint industry initiative, this workshop for the public library sector will equip staff with the skills to pitch for and run author events as a stimulus to community engagement and wider reading.
Drawing on the combined expertise of librarians and publishers, this practical session will explore why author events are one of the most effective marketing tools available to the sector to entice customers, loyal and new, into library venues and how celebrating the written word can make a difference to the local community.
If you would like to book a place or would like more information about the training, please contact Jenny Warner on jenny.warner@readingagency.org.uk by 12 January.
Cost: £80 per delegate. This will cover the costs of the training materials, goody bags, lunch, administration, Reading Agency and publisher time.
