My job involves working on our children's programmes. I work with the library co-ordinators running the Summer Reading Challenge locally and help put together all of the information and resources they'll need. I help create the physical and digital materials for the Challenge, and contribute to the Summer Reading Challenge website for participants.
Reading has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. There are few things more absorbing or transformative than a good book, and I especially love those that prompt you into rethinking your relationship with the world around you. Reading has brought me so much joy and opportunity that I feel very lucky to work for an organisation that helps to foster a love of reading in others. As a former Summer Reading Challenge participant myself I'm really excited to be working on the programme.
My earliest memories of my own reading journey are from when I was three and thought that no car journey was complete without my Sesame Street read-along books. I would like to believe I've now moved on to more sophisticated fare, but should cassette tapes ever make a comeback, I'm ready.
