The 1st of October is International Day of Older Persons and the UK's Older People's Day. The day is celebrated annually to recognise the contributions of older persons and to examine issues that affect their lives.
You can see what is going on around the country on Twitter by using #olderpeoplesday. Do also let us know what you are doing in your libraries to celebrate older people's day.
Why not tell us about an uplifting book you have read that you would recommend to an older person? You can email firstname.lastname@example.org, post a comment below or Tweet using #moodboosting.
If you would like to get hold of the list of 20 Mood-boosting Books chosen by older people, you can order leaflets through the Reading Agency's online shop.
We hope you enjoy celebrating Older People's Day!
